self oscillate
Self
Oscillate is the solo project of ingo zobel.
He is a member of the German
group "dron", which released three albums so far and contributed tracks
to lots of compilations, also for the German "Space Night" and "Flowmotion"
television broadcasts. Ingo composes electronic music since 1993 and was influenced
mainly by the electronica/idm scene. On his debut album these influences are pretty
obvious, but also ambient textures can be heard. Despite the fact that he is located
in Germany, he has developed a more "British" sound, which is often
compared with acts from the Warp/Rephlex family, but without lack of personality,
it's not simply a copy of other bands music.
His former background as a seller
of musical instruments made him an experienced user of all kinds of electronic
gear and you can meet him on several forums, which are dedicated to analogue modular
synthesizers and music software.
